Zion – Emerald Pools Trail

The spectacular Emerald Pools Trail just keeps climbing up through a superb canyon past the first two small pools until you reach the third one.  Depending upon your wishes, you simply go as far as you wish before returning.  The lower pool is rated “easy” and is just over a mile round trip.  Onward, the trail changes to “moderate” and Middle Pool is just upstream.  The Upper pool is further on, and the moderate trail continues, with some sandy areas and rocks to climb over.  The upper pool has its own beauty, and is worth the hike, in my opinion, although I haven’t considered my photos of it as viable for offering.

Water drips out over some outcroppings as shown in these photos.
